YWCA Cambridge at
The W

Welcome to The W Programming Centre! In this space, YWCA Cambridge provides supportive, inclusive and participant-led programs for women, girls and non-binary youth. All programs are geared toward the needs of participants, with overarching themes such as health and wellness, bodily integrity, social activism, empowerment, STEM learning and pre-employment and mentoring.

This space is the home to our pre-employment programs, programs for cis & trans girls, non-binary and two-spirit youth, summer camps, workshops and so much more!
The W is located at 101-20 Dickson Street, in downtown Galt.

Programs at the W

SHYFT

SHYFT (Shaping & Helping Youth Form Tomorrow) is a 12 to 15-week program for youth ages 8 to 12, and is offered in both girls-only and co-ed environments.

Small Steps To Success

Small Steps to Success provides the opportunity to gain the skills and confidence needed to be successful in the workplace or in a school setting.

Uplift

Specialied training in the fields of advanced manurfacturing and specialized technology, offered in partnership with FedDev Ontario, The University of Guelph and Brescia University College – Western University.

TechGyrls

TechGyrls is a 12-week program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 9 to 13. TechGyrls is currently on hiatus but please see our workshop schedule for special STEM themed events and special events.

STEM Mentoring

STEM Mentoring is an ongoing mentorship program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 9 to 13. STEM Mentoring is currently on hiatus but we are currently seeking cis or trans women, or gender diverse individuals with expertise in the STEM field to develop new and exciting workshops and special events to help grow girls’ passion in all things STEM.
