YWCA Cambridge at The W

Welcome to The W Programming Centre! In this space, YWCA Cambridge provides supportive, inclusive and participant-led programs for women, girls and non-binary youth. All programs are geared toward the needs of participants, with overarching themes such as health and wellness, bodily integrity, social activism, empowerment, STEM learning and pre-employment and mentoring.

This space is the home to our pre-employment program (Small Steps To Success) and our programs for girls and non-binary and two-spirit youth (STEPS, SHYFT, TechGyrls, STEM Mentoring & GLOW). The W is located at 101-20 Dickson Street, in downtown Galt.

Programs at the W

GLOW

GLOW (Girls’ Life of Wellness) is a 12-week program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 8 to 14.

TechGyrls

TechGyrls is a 12-week program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 9 to 13.

Small Steps To Success

Small Steps to Success provides the opportunity to gain the skills and confidence needed to be successful in the workplace or in a school setting.

STEPS

STEPS (Sisters in Truth, Equality, Power & Strength) is a 12-week program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 8 to 18.

SHYFT

SHYFT (Shaping & Helping Youth Form Tomorrow) is a 12 to 15-week program for youth ages 8 to 12, and is offered in both girls-only and co-ed environments.

Safe Sisters

Safe Sisters is a 12-week program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 8 to 16.

STEM Mentoring

STEM Mentoring is an ongoing mentorship program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 9 to 13.
