Hours: 21hrs/week, some evening work based on scheduled programs

ABOUT THE W, YWCA CAMBRIDGE’S PROGRAMMING SPACE
YWCA Cambridge provides various employment, reskilling and prevention based programs for cisgender and transgender women and girls, non-binary and two-spirit individuals. Many of our programs are offered in the community, including our own program space, The W. Financial literacy programs and services are integrated into existing programs taking place at The W and in partnership with community organizations in Cambridge. The Dollars & Sense financial literacy program is part of a larger project coordinated by YWCA Canada and includes 11 YWCAs across Canada. All programs are free and participant-led.

JOB SUMMARY
Working in collaboration with existing Youth and Employment Program Coordinators, the successful candidate will display an understanding and passion for strengthening financial literacy and empowerment among women and gender-diverse individuals. Financial Literacy Program Staff will be responsible for oversight on deliverables related to integrated programs and services, as well as facilitating and evaluating community-based financial programs and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with YWCA Canada and regional YWCAs across Canada, financial literacy programming aims to improve financial literacy for low-income women and gender-diverse people. The project will weave financial literacy and empowerment activities into existing YWCA Cambridge programs in order to help address the needs of participants and promote financial resilience for women and gender-diverse individuals.
DUTIES:
- With an understanding of YWCA Cambridge programming philosophy, research, adapt and facilitate core financial services in the community and existing YWCA Cambridge programs: financial education, one-on-one coaching or counselling sessions, tax filing clinics, benefits navigation and financial literacy support sessions.
- Ensure services are accessible, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate and responsive to evolving community needs.
- Facilitate and compile evaluation (formal and informal) using YWCA Cambridge’s established surveys and platforms.
- Maintain accurate records, statistics and evaluation information related to the project activities and outcomes achieved.
- Establish strong, positive relationships with participants and community organization partnerships.
- Liaise and network with community partners, including attending community events to connect with community partners and promote programs.
- Attend and contribute local insights and participant stories through bi-monthly Community of Practice meetings, training sessions and initiatives alongside YWCA Canada and member agencies on the project.
- Carry out administrative duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of financial education resources, tax filing and federal/provincial benefits
- Capable of working individually and in highly collaborative team environment
- Detail oriented with an ability to maintain documentation and data
- Clear and assertive communication skills
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills; self-motivated
- Experience planning and facilitating workshops
- Experience with both formal and informal evaluation techniques
