DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (New position)
Part-Time, One-Year Contract (30 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: $34.00 – $37.00
Location: Cambridge, Ontario (Head Office with some remote work)

The Opportunity
YWCA Cambridge is seeking a highly organized and relationship-focused Development Specialist to support fundraising, donor stewardship, and campaign execution. This new role reports to the Director of Philanthropy and plays a key part in advancing YWCA Cambridge’s fundraising strategy through donor relations, project coordination, and CRM management.
This is a part-time (30 hours/week), one-year contract position with the option for some remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and grow relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations
- Assist with the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and engagement initiatives
- Draft donor-facing materials including proposals, reports, and stewardship communications
- Coordinate fundraising projects and events, including timelines and tasks using Asana
- Collaborate with Communications staff on donor engagement and digital fundraising initiatives
- Support donor stewardship activities, recognition, and Annual Report content
- Maintain accurate donor records and reporting in NEON CRM
- Liaise with internal teams and respond to donor, member, and volunteer inquiries
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in fundraising, communications, marketing or a related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations (charitable or non-profit experience preferred)
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Strong relationship management and communications skills with the ability to engage donors, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in presentation development, spreadsheet management, and data analysis
- Experience with CRM systems and on-line donation platforms (NEON CRM and Asana are assets)
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Canva, Asana, or similar project management tools is an asset
- Achievement-oriented, proactive and goal-driven
- Self-motivated, with superior ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
- Ability to work and enjoys working in a multi-layered, results-oriented organization with multiple stakeholders
