Director of Philanthropy
Status: Full Time Permanent Position (this is not a new position)
Salary Range: $78,000 – $83,000
Location: Cambridge, Ontario (Head Office with limited remote work option)
The Opportunity
YWCA Cambridge is seeking a strategic and relationship-focused Director of Philanthropy to lead the organization’s philanthropic efforts. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the leadership team, this existing leadership role is responsible for leading and implementing the annual fundraising and donor engagement strategy.
This permanent position oversees donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns and events, corporate partnerships, major and legacy gifts, monthly giving, and grants. The successful candidate will have the option for a hybrid work arrangement to be discussed with the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the annual philanthropic and fundraising strategy
- Serve as the organizational lead for donations, fundraising initiatives, and community fundraising events
- Build, steward, and grow relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community supporters
- Design and deliver fundraising and awareness campaigns and events, in collaboration with the Director of Communications & Advocacy
- Oversee donor data management, reporting, and KPI tracking using NEON CRM
- Manage sponsorships, partnerships, and fulfillment of partnership deliverables
- Represent YWCA Cambridge at community events, meetings, and donor prospecting opportunities
- Track and report on fundraising performance, campaign outcomes, and impact
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary education in fundraising, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or donor relations
- Demonstrated success in donor stewardship, campaigns, events, volunteer management, grant writing, and partnership development
- Experience with donor management systems (NEON CRM considered an asset)
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills
- Understanding of the issues that impact women, girls, and gender-diverse people
- Commitment to YWCA Cambridge’s mission, values, and equity-focused approach and to a feminist, anti-oppressive framework
- Knowledge of the Cambridge and North Dumfries community
