HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development Training

This HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development training is designed for anyone working with children aged 4 to 12. Grounded in over two decades of research and hands-on experience in recreation and sport, this course emphasizes the importance of being a Caring Leader and role model. You’ll learn how to create meaningful and safe play experiences that foster friendships, participation, and skill mastery.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand how children aged 4–12 develop physically, cognitively, and socially.
  2. Explore your impact as a Caring Leader.
  3. Build positive relationships in recreation and sport environments.
  4. Support children in developing friendships and appreciating diversity.
  5. Keep play central by designing inclusive, supportive programs using HIGH FIVE® principles.

In-person training

  • Maximum capacity: 25 participants
  • Trainer: Noor Sabah, YWCA Cambridge Summer Camp Director

  • Participants must be present for the full duration and are expected to fully engage by:
