CAMBRIDGE, ON – YWCA Cambridge is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 31st Annual Women of Distinction Awards, a prestigious event that celebrates the outstanding achievements and contributions of local women and gender-diverse individuals.
The Women of Distinction Awards celebrate those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and innovation in their communities. Nominees may include mentors, volunteers, educators, entrepreneurs, and activists who have positively impacted the lives of others in Cambridge and North Dumfries. For full eligibility requirements and to submit a nomination, visit ywcacambridge.ca. Nominations are due by March 31, 2025.
As with the previous two award years, all nominations will be placed into a single pool, and adjudicated by an external selection committee that will determine four Women of Distinction award recipients. In addition to the four awards, there are three special award categories: the Young Trailblazer Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the President’s Award, the last of which is selected by the YWCA Cambridge Board and staff from the full nomination pool.
The awards ceremony will be held in June, 2025. Tickets will be available for purchase in early spring.
Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships support YWCA Cambridge’s community-based programs, including gender-based violence prevention, employment services, its new women’s emergency homeless shelter, and advocacy efforts to advance gender equity and end gender-based violence.
