Cambridge, ON, – Cambridge Shelter Corp and YWCA Cambridge are proud to announce their partnership in hosting the 2024 Golf Classic, a charity event taking place on August 12 at the Galt Country Club. The tournament aims to raise funds in support of the Bridges emergency homeless shelter and the future women’s emergency homeless shelter YWCA Cambridge is currently working to establish.
“With homelessness reaching crisis levels, the need for community support has never been more urgent,” said YWCA Cambridge CEO, Kim Decker.
“We are dedicated to providing pathways out of homelessness and ensuring that individuals can live with dignity and safety. Establishing a women’s emergency shelter is a crucial step forward, and we rely on our community’s participation and generosity, including through events like this upcoming golf tournament.”
“We see this as an opportunity to unite our two organizations to bring awareness and much needed funding to use in the fight against homelessness in our community,” said Cambridge Shelter Corp executive director, Wayne Paddick.
Registration includes 18 holes of golf on the scenic Galt Country Club course, a shared power cart, a gourmet BBQ lunch at Thompson’s Gazebo, and a plated dinner in the clubhouse. Participants will also enjoy access to the club’s practice facilities and locker rooms throughout the event.

Registration: $265 per person (includes a $50 charitable tax receipt)
Activities during the tournament will include a putting contest, along with exciting on-course challenges such as the Hole In One and the popular Speed Hole.
Individuals and businesses are encouraged to participate in this meaningful event, contributing to the expansion of essential services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Cambridge.
