We are thrilled to officially launch YWCA Cambridge’s 2026-2029 Strategic Plan.
We are living in times of rapid change and deepening inequality. From the housing crisis and precarious work to the rise of systemic backlash against equity initiatives, the realities facing women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals are complex, and our work has never been more critical.
Built on an intersectional feminist, anti-oppression framework, this plan was designed with a commitment to honesty, realism, and clear, jargon-free language. Because our environment is changing too quickly for a traditional five-year outlook, we have intentionally focused on a pragmatic three-year timeline to serve as a true decision-making tool unique to our community’s needs.
Over the next three years, our roadmap centres on three distinct, action-oriented pillars:
-
Hold Fast: Conserving and protecting our essential core services, including quality licensed child care, employment services, youth programs, and summer camps.
-
Dig In: Deepening our impact and expanding our presence where growth is urgently required—specifically in emergency shelter and housing for women and gender-diverse individuals.
-
Speak Out: Amplifying our voice as a trusted advocate to courageously call out inequities, from child care workforce challenges to the realities of women’s homelessness.
We invite you to read the full document and join us as we work toward a world where everyone has the tools, freedom, and safety to choose their own path.
